About MBOSE (Meghalaya)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) is an educational authority in Meghalaya, India. Established in 1973, MBOSE regulates, supervises, and develops school education in the state. It conducts the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially established to conduct SSLC examinations, MBOSE’s responsibilities expanded in 1996 to include HSSLC examinations, previously managed by the North East India Council for Technical Education (NEICET). The board’s headquarters is in Tura, with a regional office in Shillong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key function of MBOSE is to develop and implement curricula and syllabi. The board collaborates with educational experts, teachers, and institutions to design syllabi that meet contemporary educational needs and standards. This involves continuous revision and updating of educational content to keep pace with advancements in various fields. MBOSE is also responsible for the publication of textbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MBOSE also emphasises extracurricular activities and overall student development. The board encourages schools to organise cultural, sports, and academic events, providing students with opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
